The state government of Odisha has launched a toll free helpline number for the beneficiaries of housing schemes such a Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana. The state government too this decision after receiving complains about government officials and employees taking bribes and harassing the housing scheme employees.
The toll free number 1800-345-6768 was launched by the Panchayati Raj Department. Using this toll free number anyone can lodge a complain against any employee or officer. The government will take action against the official/employees accordingly.
The beneficiaries of the housing schemes can dial the toll free number to inform the local BDO and district Collector about the corrupt officials. The initiative will help all the beneficiaries to get houses under the Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana and other pro poor housing schemes in the state without any problem.
The Panchayati Raj Department would not tolerate corruption at any level in governance and public works. Anybody demanding bribe or harassing the beneficiaries will be booked under the criminal charges.
The state government has provided about 10 Lakh pucca houses to people, including SC and ST and other backward categories in last two years in the State.
