Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) is an agricultural crop insurance scheme out of many ambitious schemes launched by Narendra Modi government. Under this scheme, the central government provides insurance cover and financial assistance to farmers in the hour of need. All the farmers who have filled PMFBY online application form can now their check their PMFBY application status online.
Under PMFBY, all crops are insured and financial assistance would be given in case of damage of crops due to heavy rain, pests, diseases and other natural calamities. Recently, govt. has reduced Premium for Fasal Bima Yojana to 2% for Kharif and 1.5% of the sum insured for Rabi crops.
PMFBY was launched on 18 February 2016. People can now easily check PMFBY online application status at pmfby.gov.in portal.

Below is the complete procedure to check PMFBY farmer online application status:
- Firstly visit the official PMFBY portal at pmfby.gov.in
- At the homepage, click at the “Application Status – Know Your Application Status on every Step” link as shown in the figure:-
- Afterwards, PMFBY farmer online application status form will appear as follows:-
- Here candidates can enter the “Application Number” and “Captcha” and then click at the “Check Status” button to view the PMFBY farmer application status.
The government has also launched PMFBY App to view more information and status about the PMFBY crop insurance scheme.
