Swayam Prabha, a great initiative by the Ministry of Human Resource Development under which 32 DTH channels are being used to telecast live lectures on different education subjects. 32 DTH channels through DTH (Direct to Home) are being used to broadcast study content for school and college students.
Launched on 9th July, 2017 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, high quality educational content is being broadcasted on these channels using the GSAT-15 satellite. The channels provides at least 4 hour of new content every day while the content is repeated 5 times throughout the day which allows the students to pick time to lean as per their convenience.
The archive of the content provided on Swayam Prabha channels is available to watch on Youtube while the channels can be watched live on two DTH services including Dish TV and DD Free Dish.

All the 32 channels of Swayam Prabha can also be watched on Dist TV DTH and DD Free Dish. To watch the channels on Dish TV, switch to channel number 2001 onwards. Channels on Dish TV are available with the name “MHRD ‘Channel Number'”, i.e. for channel number 1, it is “MHRD 1” on Dish TV channel number 2001.
