The state government of Maharashtra has given its approval to construct 1,82,783 new houses in the state under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). The housing scheme in the state is being implemented by MAHDA (Maharashtra Housing and Urban Development Authority), it is the nodal agency which overlooks the all housing project in the state.
The central government has selected the Maharashtra state to construct 19 Lakh houses till 2022 under PMAY. So far, MHADA has sent 94 projects proposals to Maharashtra government, out of which 60 projects have been approved. The Maharashtra government has ensured to provide affordable houses to every poor in the state.
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Maharashtra
The state government will construct around 1,82,783 house across the state. Out of this, over 1 lakh 21 thousand houses are being reserved only for economically weaker section of society. Moreover, the state government has approved 11 housing construction projects for Konkan Board. A total 26,000 houses will be constructed only in the Mumbai metropolitan area.
The state government will provide house to each beneficiary at an affordable rate. The beneficiary will also get loan facility to buy an eco – friendly house in the state under PMAY. As per the released notification, the nodal agency of Maharashtra is MHADA has made a promise to complete this project by 2018.
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana
PM Awas Yojana is an ambitious affordable housing scheme of Narendra Modi Schemes. Under this scheme, the government aims to provide house to all the poor people of the society across the country by 2022. This scheme is being implemented by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation in cooperation with the state governments.
The central government is also inviting online registration for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana under the 4 benefit components of the scheme through its official pmaymis.gov.in.
