7th Pay Commission in Uttar Pradesh Approved

In a big cheer to the state government employees, the Akhilesh Government has approved the implementation of the 7th pay commission in the state. The decision was taken during a state cabinet meeting on 18 July.

During the meeting, government decided to implement the 7th Pay commission by forming a four member committee. The head of the committee will be selected by the Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav.

Highlights
1. The 4 member committee will have to submit report within 6 months. The state government however may implement the 7th Pay Commission in October in view of the next assembly elections are just round the corner.

2. About 16 Lakh state government employees and 6 Lakh pensioners will be benefited from the commission once implemented.

3. An extra burden of Rs. 24,000 crores per annum will be added to the state government after the implementation of 7th pay commission.

4. The HRA hike decision has already been postponed due to some technical reasons. The state government employees were waiting for an increase of 20% in HRA.
