Free Laptop Scheme for College Students in Karnataka

The state government of Karnataka has announced a new free laptop scheme for college students in its financial budget for the year 2017-18. The students who have just passed their senior secondary examination and are getting admissions into colleges in 2017-18 academic year would be eligible for free laptop scheme.

Free Laptop Scheme for College Students

The laptops would be distributed to all the students getting admission in the year 2017-18 to Engineering, Medical, Polytechnic and First Grade Colleges. However, the students who get admission in government colleges would only be entitled to get free laptop under the scheme. The free laptop scheme would provide benefits to about 1.5 Lakh students.

In 2014, state government also proposed a free laptop scheme for 10.5 Lakh students studying in all government and private colleges but the scheme was dropped due to high cost (About Rs. 3000 Crore) to the exchequer. The new scheme however would cost about 450 Crore if the cost of each laptop is Rs. 30000.

How to Apply for Free Laptop Scheme

The application form for the free laptop scheme in Karnataka would be available offline or online, it is not yet clear because the scheme is just announced in the budget.

The state government has announced the scheme of free laptops for college students so that they can be more efficient, productive and digitally literate in their higher studies. The free laptop scheme in Karnataka will surely help the students, especially who are not able to afford laptops because of their weaker economic condition.

Karnataka government however has reduced the budget for higher education for the upcoming financial year. The allocation for higher education for 2017-18 has been reduced to Rs. 4,401 crore.

Free laptop scheme is not launched yet, more details such as application forms, eligibility criteria and how to apply would be available only after the scheme is launched.

Chandigarh Housing Board PMAY Application Form Download PDF

Chandigarh Housing Board is inviting applications for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana housing scheme demand survey. The application forms are available online to download from the official website of Chandigarh Housing Board. The PMAY applications forms for the affordable housing scheme can be downloaded in PDF format from chbonline.in.

Chandigarh Housing Board PMAY Application Form

Chandigarh housing board is inviting online applications for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban on demand survey basis. The applications are invited through the offline modes. The eligible candidates can fill the demand survey forms of PM Awas Yojana and submit at the Chandigarh housing board office.

Demand Survey form can be downloaded from www.chbonline.in or can be obtained from the Reception Counter of Chandigarh Housing Board, Block-C, Sector 9-D, Chandigarh at a cost of Rs.10/- (Rupees ten only). Period of submission of Demand survey form alongwith Rs.10/- as registration fee in the shape of postal order shall extend from 20.3.2017 to 20.4.2017. However, the applicants who upload their forms
on the PMAY-MIS Portal are not required to deposit the registration fee of Rs.10/-.

How to Apply Online
The candidates can also apply online for the PMAY at pmaymis.gov.in. The applicants who apply through official website at pmaymis.gov.in need not to fill the offline application form.

Eligibility Criteria

Households having annual income upto Rs.3,00,000/- fall under the category of Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). Households having income between Rs.3,00,001/- and Rs.6,00,000/- fall under the category of Low Income Groups (LIG) and are eligible to participate in the demand survey subject to the fulfilment of the conditions mentioned in the form for the Scheme.

Only EWS households living in urban area of Chandigarh are eligible to submit demand survey forms for affordable Housing in partnership & individual house enhancement provided that they are residents of Chandigarh as on 17.6.2015 having Aadhar Card/Voter Identity Card and having no house/residential plot anywhere in India.

Benefits Under the PMAY Scheme

Under the Credit linked subsidy, beneficiaries living in Urban area of Chandigarh are eligible for an interest subsidy @ 6.5% on Rs. 6 lacs for new construction/addition of rooms, kitchen, toilet etc. to existing dwelling units provided that the carpet area of houses being constructed or enhanced under this component of the mission should be upto 30 square meters and 60 square meters for EWS and LIG respectively and construction/enhancement is as per byelaws/rules applicable in Chandigarh. Chandigarh Housing Board being State Level Nodal Agency (SLNA) for Chandigarh for implementing the mission will facilitate the identified eligible beneficiaries in getting approvals and documents etc. to avail this credit linked subsidy.

PM Awas Yojana Loan Scheme 2017 for MIG Under CLSS – Interest Rates & Subsidy

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana home loan scheme 2017 for middle income group (MIG) has been announced by the central government. The government has now included middle income group under the credit linked subsidy component of the scheme to provide interest subsidy on the housing loans. Under the scheme, the monthly installment for the housing loans taken in 2017 will come down by Rs. 2000. The government has introduced two MIG categories, MIG-1 and MIG-2 under the new loan scheme.

Persons who have taken/applied for housing loan on or after January 1st 2017 would be eligible to take benefits of up to Rs. 2.35 Lakh under the scheme. Under the new PMAY home loan scheme for MIG, urban families with household income of up to Rs. 18 lakh per annum would be able to take benefits of the scheme. The government has signed MoU with 70 lending institutions for providing home loans to beneficiaries under CLSS for MIG.

The total interest subsidy accruing on these loan amounts will be paid to the loan account of beneficiaries up front in one go there by reducing the burden of Equated Monthly Instalment (EMI). Additional loans beyond the aforementioned specified limit, if any, will be at non-subsidized rate. There would be no processing fee charged by the PLI’s for applications under the CLSS. The scheme initially would be implemented for one year with effect from 01-01-2017.

CLSS for MIG – Eligibility & Guidelines

Apart from the family as comprising of wife, husband and unmarried daughters and sons, single unmarried youth and earning young adults can also apply for the subsidy under the CLSS for MIG loan scheme. Women with overriding preference to widows, single working women, persons belonging to SC/ST, BC, Differently abled and Transgender people would be given preferences for loans under the scheme.

To be eligible to interest subsidy under CLSS for MIG

  • The beneficiary family should not own a pucca house either in his/her name or in the name of any member of his/her family in any part of India.
  • A beneficiary family should not have availed of central assistance under any housing scheme from Government of India.

Patrakar Samman Yojana – Pension Scheme for Journalist in Bihar

Bihar Patrakar Pension Yojana will soon be renamed as Bihar Patrakar Samman Yojana. The government is planning a strategy to modify the old version of Bihar Journalists’ Pension Scheme by making some amendments in pension rules.

Information & Public Relations Department (IPRD) has been directed by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to rename the scheme and to make necessary amendments in the existing pension rules to benefits the eligible retired journalists.

The government also requested the journalist’s delegation to come with some effective suggestions for the scheme and asked them for what method should be used to certify the qualifying criteria of minimum 20 years of working experience in the field of journalism.

Benefits under Bihar Patrakar Samman Yojana

As per the existing rules of the scheme, the beneficiary would get the following benefits.
An amount of 5,000 per month would be given to the beneficiary in the form of pension.

A retired journalist having 20 years of minimum experience in Bihar and crossed the age of 60 years would be eligible for the scheme. Earlier, some journalists requested the government to increase the amount of pension but the government declined the request. Bihar Patrakar Samman Yojana was formed in the governance period of former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi in February 2015.

Apun Ghar Home Loan Scheme for Assam Govt. Employees

Apun Ghar is a new home loan scheme for Assam Government employees under which home loans will be provided to the state govt employees at subsidized interest rates. The Assam government has signed an MoU with the state bank of India to provide home loans at hugely subsidized interest rates to its employees.

Apun Ghar Home Loan Scheme – Introduction

Under the Apun Ghar scheme, the state government would provide housing loans at a subsidized rate of 5% for its women employees and 5.5% for men employees. The loan would be provided without and collateral security and processing fee. The main objective of Apun Ghar housing loan scheme is to provide housing to all state residents. Though, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is also running in all the towns and cities of the state under which loans at subsidized rates are provided.

Under the Apun Ghar scheme, the state government employees can avail a loan of up to Rs 15 Lakh for with an interest subsidy of 3.5%. The subsidy on interest rates would benefit state government employees in terms of lower interest rates and lower EMI’s.

Apun Ghar home loan scheme is however targeted to the government employees belonging to the lower income group of the society but applicable for all. The government employees are eligible for the Apun Ghar home loan scheme who has

The state government employees need not to visit the bank branch to apply for the Apun Ghar scheme, but they can simply submit the applications forms or submit their request to respective district drawing and disbursing officer.

The government of India is emphasizing on the power-loom sector and planning to launch a solar scheme which would benefit the loom weavers.
The government has devised a scheme named as “Solar Energy Scheme” to provide financial assistance and capital subsidy to loom weavers for implanting the solar energy plant to increase their production.

Solar Energy Scheme – Subsidy on Solar Plants

Under the Solar Energy Scheme, financial assistance and capital subsidy will be provided to the applicant to the extent of 50 percent, 75 percent and 90 percent of the basic cost of the solar energy plant.

The scheme is mainly formulated to promote the power-loom by utilizing solar energy. The scheme will drop-out the problem of lighting in the area and the planter of solar energy plant will be able to utilize the solar energy plants to grow their textile business by increasing production.

The scheme will definitely help in the development of the power-loom sector. The scheme will be active from 1 April, 2017 to benefits the loom weavers.

Chhattisgarh Yuva Suchna Kranti Yojana 2017 – Free Smartphones to be Distributed

Chhattisgarh state government has announced “Chhattisgarh Yuva Suchna Kranti Yojana 2017” under which it will provide free smartphones to the youth in the state. The state government has announced the scheme to promote digitization in the state and making the youth digitally literate.

The state government of Chhattisgarh in its financial budget for the year 2017-18 has announced distribution of free smartphones under the Yuva Suchna Kranti Yojana 2017. Under the scheme, the government would provide free smartphones to 45 Lakh youth in the state.

The distribution of free smartphones to 45 Lakh youth would cost the state government about Rs. 200 Crore. The government has set a budget of Rs. 80 Crore for distributing Laptops and Tablets under the Suchna Kranti Yojana 2017.

The decision of distribution of free smartphones under Suchna Kranti Yojana would help youth become digitally literate and more efficient in their everyday life. The smartphones would also help youth get informed about the state government’s schemes and policies. The youth beneficiaries of the scheme would also be able to share their feedback on government’s schemes and policies using the smartphone.

The state government in its 2017-18 financial budget has also announced to create a digital army of 18 lakh people. Under this project, the state government would train them for payment in digital/cashless mode.

The scheme is not launched yet and the list of beneficiaries is not out. The government may invite online applications for the free smartphone under the Yuva Suchna Kranti Yojana 2017. The exact eligibility criteria would be available once the scheme is launched.

The government has added an option to check the details of family members of the beneficiaries as per the SECC-2011 data. PMAY Home Loan Subsidy Scheme for EWS/LIG 2017 – Complete Details

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana home loan scheme for EWS (Economically Weaker Section) and LIG (Lower Income Group) for the year 2017 has been updated. Under the new scheme, the government is now offering the housing loan for up to 20 years instead of 15 years as per the previous guidelines. The government has also introduced CLSS for MIG and the previous CLSS component would be called CLSS for EWS/LIG.

Under the CLSS for WES/LIG, Beneficiaries of Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Low Income Group (LIG) seeking housing loans from Banks, Housing Finance Companies and other such institutions would be eligible for an interest subsidy at the rate of 6.5 % for a tenure of 20 years or during tenure of loan whichever is lower.

PMAY Home Loan Scheme for EWS/LIG – Highlights

  • The credit linked subsidy will be available only for loan amounts upto Rs 6 lakhs and additional loans beyond Rs. 6 lakhs, if any, will be at non-subsidized rate.
  • Interest subsidy will be credited upfront to the loan account of beneficiaries through Primary Lending Institutions (PLI), resulting in reduced effective housing loan and Equated Monthly Installment (EMI).
  • The Net Present Value (NPV) of the interest subsidy will be calculated at a discount rate of 9 %.
  • The houses constructed/acquired with central assistance under the Mission should be in the name of the female head of the household or in the joint name of the male head of the household and his wife, and only in case when there is no adult female member in the family, the house can be in the name of male member of the household.
  • All Statutory Towns as per Census 2011 and towns notified subsequently, including planning area as notified with respect to Statutory Town.

Area which can be constructed
Carpet area of house being constructed or enhanced under this component of the Mission should be upto 30 square meters for EWS category and upto 60 square meters for LIG category. For incremental housing/extension, the area limit will be 30 sq.mt. and 60 sq.mt. of carpet area for EWS and LIG category respectively.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme 2017

Chief Minister Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme in Tamil Nadu is a lofty insurance scheme launched by the state government in association with the United India Insurance Company. The scheme now covers 1.57 crore families including migrant workers and undocumented orphans. Chief Minster’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme has broadened its coverage and also included 321 more medical procedures.

Along with United India Insurance Company, the Chief Minster’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme renewed on 10th January 2017. The scheme will have more than 1,100 treatment procedures including the coverage of congenital anomalies. The government renewed the contract for four-year terms with an annual premium payment of Rs. 1,069 crores.

As per the information from Public Health and Preventive Medicine department, the government is paying Rs. 699 on per family basis while earlier, the amount was Rs. 497. The departments have the responsibility for implementing the scheme properly.

Treatment Procedures Covered under CM Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme
Tamil Nadu State Health Insurance Scheme will be covering the treatments and procedures including, heart and lung transplants, cochlear implant, bone marrow transport, radiation therapy, surgical oncology. For the first time in India, it is the first scheme to cover the cover bariatric surgery for the morbidly obese.

The coverage amount under the scheme has been increased from Rs. 1.5 lacs to Rs. 2.0 lacs for surgical procedures. And for critical illness, if the surgery or treatment procedure exceeds the insured limit, the government have set up a corpus fund to pay for the entire treatment.

It is the first attempt of Tamil Nadu state government towards providing a health insurance cover to migrant workers and orphans. The scheme was not benefiting this category from a long time due to the lack of documentation, address and residence proof. With some amendments and modification in State Health Insurance Scheme, the government hopes to reach those workers and their children who have no or less documents.

Pension Scheme for Single Women in Telangana

Telangana government will soon start a pension scheme for single women from poor families in Telangana to provide them financial support. Under Single Women Pension Scheme in Telangana, an amount of Rs. 1000 will be provided in the form of pension and the government is all set to start the scheme in April 2017.

The scheme will benefit single women whose annual income is below Rs 2 lakh and belong to BPL (Below Poverty Line) families.
“Poverty inflicts more misery among women than men” keeping the point in mind, the government has decided to launch Single Women Pension Scheme under which a pension of Rs. 1,000 will be provided to single women.

The district collectors had also been directed to start registering details of single women eligible for the pension. And the request sent to all legislators to get eligible women enrolled under the scheme.

At present, the government is providing pension to aged people, differently-abled person and widows under Asara scheme. A scheme to provide ₹1,000 as monthly pension to women beedi workers is also under implementation.

To strengthen women, the Telangana government also launched Kalyana Laxmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes to meet the wedding expenses of girls under which thousands of families benefited and received a financial assistance of Rs 51,000.

Sarothi – Chief Minister Start-up Fund Scheme for Funding Startups in Assam

Chief Minister’s Start-up fund Scheme ‘Sarothi’- A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Assam government and Department of Industries and Commerce and Assam Gramin Vikas Bank (AGVB) for funding the startups in Assam.

The event where the MoU was signed was organized at Udyog Bhawan, Bamunimaidam, Guwahati.

Objective of Chief Minister Start-up Fund Scheme Sarohi

The objective of signing this MoU is to provide funding for startups in Assam by providing them financial assistance in the form of loans with interest subvention. Through Assam Gramin Vikas Bank, Chief Minister’s Start-up Fund Scheme ‘Sarothi’ will cover the whole Assam state.

Interest Subsidy under Sarohi

An interest subvention of 5% per annum will be provided to the beneficiaries who will take loan under the Start-up Fund ‘Sarothi’. New and creative start-ups in any sector would be eligible to get the benefit under the scheme. But priority will be given to those applicants who have undergone any kind of skill development training.

The initiative launched by the government to remove the obstacle and hurdle of equity or fund facing by entrepreneurs for boosting their business.

The implementation process of the scheme shall be started in the financial year 2017-18 and valid for the period of five years.
All general managers have been instructed to start the process of inviting application from eligible beneficiaries. After collecting application, a district-level committee along with AGVB would be organized in which eligible beneficiaries would be selected for the loan under the scheme.

Deendayal Rasoi Yojana is a new food scheme announced by Rajasthan government in Ujjain. The purpose of the scheme is to provide quality meal to the poor people who are unable to afford food at normal market rates.

Deendayal Rasoi Yojana

Deendayal Rasoi Yojana will provide a full meal to poor people, workers and their families. Under the scheme, nutritious meal would be provided to the poor in the city at just Rs. 5/-. To implement the scheme in the city, bhojnalayas will be opened at different locations including, Dewasgate, Nanakheda, Railway Station, Chimanganj Krishi Upaj Mandi and Siddhwat.

The scheme will be activated on 1 April 2017 and the announcement of Rajasthan government Deendayal Rasoi Yojana in Ujjain was made in the meeting by the government.

Similar scheme is also being implemented in Madhya Pradesh which will also be rolled out on 6 April 2017. In MP, Deendayal Rasoi Yojana will provide food to the needy people in the period of 11:00 AM morning to 3:00 PM afternoon.

Saksham Yuva Scheme Haryana to Benefit Science Graduates from 1 April

The state government of Haryana has decided to broader the cover of Saksham Yuva Scheme in Haryana by including science graduates under the scheme. The decision will come into effect from 1st April 2017. To create more job opportunities for the employed youth in Haryana, private sector will also be involved in the scheme.

Till now, the scheme was providing Rs 9,000 per month in lieu of 100 hours of work to unemployed postgraduates.

The decision was taken by Haryana CM, Manohar Lal Khattar after taking a review of scheme functioning. Through Saksham Yuva Scheme in Haryana, the private sector could find the best capable youth to meet their requirement.

As the private sector demands a lot of educated youth and the scheme could help them to find the perfect person to cater their requirement.

On 27 March 2017, the government has also organized a 5-days employment fair ‘Haryana Industrial Trade Expo (HITEX)-2017’ at Faridabad. Many leading entrepreneurs are participating in the job fair to pick the person for their profession.

Maximum youth participating in the scheme has registered themselves on the portal of ‘Saksham Yuva’ Haryana at hreyahs.gov.in to get employment.
Employment Department has also been directed to come up with an online mechanism to provide prompt approval to the requisitions under the scheme.

Free Power / Electricity Connection for BPL Families in Uttar Pradesh

Yogi Adityanath’s government has decided to benefit the BPL families of Uttar Pradesh by providing them free power connection. Besides, APL families would also get an option to pay the bill in easy EMIs.

Under the free power connection scheme, 100% financing option with reasonable EMIs will be provided to the aPL household of urban and rural areas for taking electricity connections. These connections would not be given on any discrimination basis like caste or religion and it would be based on 2011 Socio – Economic Census data.

The government has also planned an amnesty scheme for those households and commercial connections who wants to take legal electricity connections.

Other decision that was taken along with the decision of providing free power connection to BPL Families are

  • 100% feeder separation and smart metering expeditiously
  • Waving off interests on electricity dues
  • Provision of option of EMIs to pay off the principal amounts
  • Bringing in zero government official discretion

Officials have also been directed to take a weekly ground-level review of the progress of the project which to be implemented from next month onwards by the scheme officials and the officers of state power department Lucknow.

All the old thermal power plants in the state would be replaced by Super Critical Power Plants. The Minister also directed the state power officers to devise a strategy to replace all the old thermal power plants in the state with Super Critical Power Plants and to engage in 100 per cent coal linkage swap so as to bring down the power costs for the common man.

Steps to be taken to achieving energy efficiency in power sector
– Replacement of all agricultural pump older more than 10 years across the state with energy efficient pumps having a smart control panel.
– Replacement of street lights across all municipalities with LED bulbs.
– Creating a stock of affordable energy efficient fans and tube lights freely available to the people.
– Creating awareness in common people about the government initiative towards power and energy saving like UJALA scheme under which the government has set a target to provide to 10 crores LED bulbs freely.

To implement the scheme, a roadmap is being prepared by the government to ensure 24×7 affordable quality power for all households living in rural and urban by October 2018.

Besides, the government of Uttar Pradesh has also decided to sign the “Power for All” document with the Center by mid-April, 2017.

Aadhar Pay – BHIM Aadhar Payment App Download & How to Use

Aadhar Pay is a new mobile app to be launched by the central government to promote the use of digital payments. The new smartphone app may be named as “BHIM – Aadhar Pay” and will be launched in 14th April. BHIM Aadhar Pay app would be a merchant app which will allow customers to pay using their thumb impression.

BHIM – Aadhar Pay is a biometric-based payment system which will allow all the Aadhar Linked account holders to carry out transactions just by the use of their thumb impression. The initiative is the part of increasing the use of digital payments.

The main objective of the Aadhar Pay App is to increase the use of digital payments and bringing transparency in the economy. The central government has already launched UPI based BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money) app in order to push the number of digital transactions and making the country a cashless economy.

Narendra Modi Government has asked all the public sector banks to come on board the Aadhar Payment System by April 14th. IDFC bank has already launched its own version of Aadhar Payment App few weeks ago. The government has also asked the banks to encourage the merchants to use the Aadhar Pay App to receive payments from their customers. The government expects adding 5 Lakh merchants on board within just two weeks after the launch of the app.

Aadhar Payment App Download & Use

However, the app would be available on play store after launch on 14th April. After that, you can follow the below steps to download Aadhar Pay app from the Google Play Store

  1. Visit play.google.com from your desktop or open play store app in your android mobile.
  2. Search for “Aadhar Pay” or “BHIM Aadhar Pay” in the search box and select the official app from the list.
  3. Click the “Download” button and click “Accept” for giving permissions to the app.
  4. App would be downloaded and installed.
  5. After installing, the merchants would be required to connect their bank account with the app where they want to receive payments from their customers.
  6. Merchants would be required to attach a fingerprint scanner with the mobile app in order to receive payments from customers.

The direct link to download Aadhar Pay app would be available only after the app is launched.

Benefits of Aadhar Pay App

The Aadhar Pay app would completely eliminate the use of credit/debit cards for payments and will also help reduce the theft of private banking information. In order to pay through the Aadhar Pay App, customers would not be required to install any app or even a smartphone.

If the bank account of the customer is linked with their Aadhar Number, they would be able to pay just by using their thumb impression. In case, the customer have multiple bank accounts, they can select the bank account from the list which is displayed in the App after thumb impression and then proceed.

Fingerprint will work as the security password to authenticate every transaction using the app.

Power Tex India Scheme Launched to Boost Powerloom Sector

Power Tex India is a new scheme launched by the Narendra Modi Government in 2017 for the Powerloom sector. The scheme is an effective move to push the powerloom sector across the country and to spread it globally. The ministry of textile launched Power Tex India Scheme in Bhiwandi in Maharashtra and Erode in Tamil Nadu and also in all powerloom centers across the country.

Components of Power Tex India scheme

Below are main components of the Power Tex India scheme under which the powerloom sector would be benefited.

  1. In-situ up-gradation of plain power looms
  2. Group Workshed Scheme (GWS)
  3. Yarn bank scheme
  4. Common Facility Centre (CFC)
  5. Pradhan Mantri Credit Scheme for powerloom weavers;
  6. Solar Energy Scheme for powerloom
  7. Facilitation, IT, awareness, market development and publicity for powerloom schemes
  8. Tex Venture Capital Fund
  9. Grant-in-Aid and modernization and Upgradation of powerloom service centers (PSCs).

In-situ up-gradation of plain powerlooms – The objective of this component is to benefit the economically weaker low-end powerloom units by providing them financial assistance for upgrading their plain looms into semi-automatic/shuttle less looms.  It will also help them to improve the fabric quality as well as productivity. The component will benefit all powerloom units having up to 8 looms.

Yarn Bank Scheme – Small weavers will be provided an interest-free corpus fund to special purpose vehicle (SPV)/consortium which will further help them in purchasing yarn at the wholesale rate and selling further to small weavers at the reasonable price. The main purpose of this component is to cut-off middle man/local supplier’s brokerage charge on sales of yarn.

Pradhan Mantri Credit Scheme – A facility of loan will be provided under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) to powerloom units/weavers which are decentralized.

Solar Energy Scheme – Financial assistance/capital subsidy will be provided for the installation of solar plants under this component of Power Tex India scheme. There would be two options under Solar Energy Scheme

1. On grid solar photovoltaic plant (without battery backup)
2. Off grid solar photovoltaic plant (with battery backup)

The two components would help them achieve the highest production level and quality. The scheme would provide 50% to 90% subsidy on the plantation of solar off-grid power plants. Through this component, the government is emphasizing on the use of solar energy in powerloom units.

Power Tex India Scheme will definitely benefit the powerloom sector to face the competition level in the global market and also enable the powerloom sector to be self-reliant.

Smart Ration Card in Tamil Nadu to Replace Ration Card

As an initiative towards digitization, Tamil Nadu government is launching Smart Family Card Scheme to make the ration cards in Tamil Nadu digital. Under the scheme, about 1.89 crore ration cards in TN will be replaced by smart cards at the cost of Rs. 330 crore.

The scheme will not interrupt the consumer, they can use the old ration card to buy commodities at PDS outlets until they receive the smart card. After receiving an SMS on their registered mobile number, the card holder can obtain their smart card from their respective PDS outlets. The SMS for a smart card would be sent by the authorities to the card holder’s mobile number.

The government is creating a new database of ration card holders by collecting their Aadhaar card details. Of 6.90 crore members of ration cards, the government has collected the Aadhar details of about 5.85 crore.

These Smart Cards are being produced on the basis of Card holder’s Aadhar information and the expenditure on the distribution of these cards will be borne by the state government. Smart card scheme is the computerization of the Public Distribution System which is now becoming a reality and the scheme will benefit the public in different ways.

The scheme will stop the duplication of cards. Besides, it will ensure the distribution of PDS commodities to the deserving person and also stop the bogus billings. Under the scheme, the monitoring of allocation of commodities to PDS outlets and movement of essential commodities from warehouses to outlets will be done.

All the task such as new card application, addition or deletion of members and change of address can be done online. Smart card scheme was announced by former CM late Jayalalithaa in 2012 with the plan to make the PDS computerized. An amount of Rs. 5,500 crore is being allocated annually for the Food department as a subsidy.

Goa PM Awas Yojana Demand Survey Application Form

Goa Government is soon planning to invite applications under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana demand survey for providing affordable housing to the urban poor in the state. The state government is planning to launch the demand survey for PM Awas Yojana in association with Hyderabad based Regional Center of Urban and Environmental Studies (RCUES).

The Goa government has appointed Hyderabad RCUES for conducting survey and preparing the action plan and annual implementation plan for housing for all. The government would cover all 14 urban local bodies under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana demand survey.

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana demand survey will be carried out by the state government to know the exact number of houses to be built in the available land resources. The demand survey application forms will help state government identify the homeless families in the state.

Goa State Urban Development Agency in association with urban local bodies will prepare the action plan for implementing the housing for all scheme in the state. As per the report prepared by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, the total demand for urban housing in Goa is estimated at 60,000.

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Demand Survey Application Forms

The government is still working on the contours of the scheme and will come out the with the application process soon. It is not clear if the applications will be invited through online or offline mode. Once the demand survey is launched, the applications forms would be available either to be filled online or can be downloaded to take a print and submit offline.

The complete details about the Goa PMAY application forms would be available once the demand survey is launched.

Under the centrally sponsored “Housing for All by 2022” mission which is named as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the government is providing financial assistance to EWS, LIG and MIG categories under different components. The government is providing subsidy of up to Rs. 2.30 Lakh on home loans under PMAY for purchase of house or new construction or expansion.

PTG Dakia Yojana – Free Rice Scheme for Primitive Tribal Group in Jharkhand

The state government of Jharkhand has announced a free rice scheme named as PTG Dakia Yojana for providing free rice to PTG families. The scheme will provide benefits to the 70,000 (Primitive Tribal Group) PTG families by providing them food grain at their door-steps under PTG Dakia Yojana.

PTG Dakia Yojana – Free Rice Scheme

Under the PTG Dakia Yojana, a free rice scheme under which Primitive Tribal Group families will be provided a packet of 35 kg rice every month. The door to door distribution of rice packets will be handled by the employees of Food and Civil Supplies Department.

The government has formally launched the free rice scheme in three districts including, Godda, Sahebganj and Palamu. The above areas are selected for the launch of the scheme because they have a relatively higher concentration of PTGs. On an average, every district in Jharkhand have about 5,000 PGT families but in these districts, the average number of PGT families is about 7,000.

Within the month, the scheme will be started for benefiting PTG families in all districts of the state. Women self-help groups will manage the work of creating rice packets which would help to make them financially strong.

Total 32 tribal groups are living in Jharkhand state of which only eight group have been categorized as PGTs including, Asur, Birhor, Paharia (Baiga), Sabar, Birajiya, Korwa, Mal Pahariya and Souriya Paharia.

As per the information, these selected PGTs are low on literacy and the average monthly income of these families is Rs 1,000 or even less. Usually, these families remain aloof from the usual settlements. Under the scheme, the government would give them only rice, and not wheat, as that is what the PTGs prefer in their diet.
