Kerala Education Loan Repayment Scheme Application Last Date Extended to 31st December

Last date for submitting online application for Kerala Education Loan Repayment Scheme has been extended by the state government. The new last date for the scheme is 21st December 2017. Earlier, the last date for submission of application and claim forms for the scheme was 31st October.

Online registration for the Kerala Education Loan repayment scheme are being invited through the official website of the scheme at www.elrs.kerala.gov.in. All eligible students can register themselves at the portal and submit application form for the claim of repayment of their education loan.

Under the scheme, the state government is re-paying the education loans of students whose annual household income is not more than 6 Lakh per annum. However, only the students who have taken loans of up to Rs. 9 Lakh will be benefited under the scheme. The total budget of the scheme is Rs. 900 Crore.

Kerala Education Loan Repayment Scheme Last Date

The last date of application submission for education loan repayment scheme has been extended by 2 months. Now the new last date is 31st December 2017.

The state government has also added the option to edit the application form after submission in the website. Students can also edit their Matriculation details after the submission.

Out of the total loan repayment amount eligible under the scheme, state government would borne 60% while rest 40% will have to be borne by the students themselves. Students belonging to households whose annual household income is more than 6 Lakh are not eligible to apply for the scheme.

Odisha Universal Eye Health Programme – UEHP Free Eye Treatment

The state government of Odisha has launched Universal Eye Health Programme (UEHP) in the state. Subsequently, Odisha govt. will set up several Vision Centers in all the Community Health Centers (CHC). Moreover,  govt. will equip these centers with applicable eye-care facilities.

Under Universal Eye Health Programme, the state government will provide a total sum of Rs. 600 crore in the next five years.Subsequently, this will envisage complete wipe out of cataract from the state of Odisha by the year 2022. After completing the framework of UNEP, Odisha is the first state within the country to provide comprehensive eye care to the persons of all age groups.

The state government will open various Vision centers at Primary Health Centers (PHC) or may be at several sub-centers to cover all the citizens of the society. The government is going to create a requisite trained workforce which will help in the execution and sustaining the gains of the program.

Universal Eye Health Programme (UEHP)

According to the official data, if govt. will provide proper cure to the citizens, over 80 % people in the Odisha state can be cured. For this reason, govt. will provide free operation facility and applicable glasses to the citizens. Moreover, the government will also provide free of cost corneal transplantation surgeries to corneal blind people.

The eye care or vision center will also provide free treatment of diabetes, retinopathy and other serious eye-problems and this free treatment will be given at the government aided hospitals. Moreover, all the patients of glaucoma will get free treatment in next three months.

In addition to this, UEHP program will also cover all the students of the state. Under this program, govt will perform screening of the students for any refractive error in the vision. In addition to this, students will also get spectacles free of cost in the school itself.

The state government has also introduced a web-based information observation system that will facilitate to establish linkages with all non-public and govt. empanelled eye hospitals.

The state government will form a committee with all stakeholders such as government officers, representatives of voluntary organizations and academicians that will be responsible for the eye care activities under the programme.

Sampoorna Bima Gram (SBG) Life Insurance Scheme for All Rural Peoples

The central government has launched Sampoorna Bima Gram (SBG) Yojana to provide an insurance cover to all the poor people of the rural areas. All the identified households in the villages will be given an insurance policy. Moreover, all the villages under the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) will also get covered under this scheme.

The Sampoorna Bima Gram (SBG) is an initiative for an increased the number of people under Postal Life Insurance (PIL) Scheme. The main aim of this scheme is to provide an affordable life insurance service for those people who are residing in the rural areas. Moreover, this scheme will also extend the banking services through the postal network across the country.

According to the official notification, the benefits of Sampoorna Bima Gram Yojana is open to all citizens including government, semi-government, Doctors, Engineers, Management Consultants, Charted Accountants, Architects, Lawyers, Bankers etc. and to every employee of the listed companies of NSE (National Stock Exchange) and BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange).

Highlights of Sampoorna Bima Gram (SBG)

The complete details and features of the scheme are given below :-

  • The government will cover at least one village (having a minimum of 100 households) under this scheme. This village will be identified from each revenue districts across the country.
  • The government will provide at least one RPLI (Rural Postal Life Insurance) policy to each household in the identified village.
  • Subsequently, the government will expand the client base of Postal life insurance (PLI) through the Sampoorna Bima Gram Yojana.
  • The benefits of the Postal Life Insurance (PLI) Scheme has been extended to all the citizens including the doctors, government employees, lawyers, engineers etc.
  • In addition to this, the Postal Life Insurance (PLI) will have low premium and high bonus as compared to the Private company’s Insurance.

The Department of Posts is operating these initiatives for the expansion of Postal Life Insurance (PLI) and Rural Postal Life Insurance (RPLI). Moreover these initiatives will secure the life of Poor people as well as prove helpful in their financial Inclusion.

Salient Features of Postal Life Insurance (PLI) and Rural Postal Life Insurance (RPLI)

Government has made some interesting provisions in both the schemes which are specified below:-

  • Postal Life Insurance (PLI) was only for the benefits of Government and semi-Government employees. This scheme was launched in 1884 under the British Rule.
  • Rural Postal Life Insurance (RPLI) was launched on March 24, 1995 to provide insurance cover to people residing in rural areas, especially weaker sections and women living in rural areas.
  • Moreover, both these schemes has low premium and high bonus which is a unique feature of these schemes.
  • As per official data, over 46.8 lakh employees in PLI and 146.8 lakh rural people in RPLI have been covered already across the nation.

Through this scheme, the government will provide an affordable life insurance services to all citizen of Rural people.

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Bunkar Yojana for Women Weavers Application Form

The state govt. of Arunachal Pradesh is executing the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Bunkar Yojana for all the women weavers in the state. The primary objective of this scheme is to provide an easy access to an affordable loan facility through bank channel. All women wavers of the state will be eligible for the scheme who requires capital for their working purpose.

Under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Bunkar Yojana, the women will get a loan only at 7% interest subvention. Subsequently, the benefits of this scheme is open to all women weavers whether a single woman weaver or a group of women weavers.

Although, the benefit of the scheme is applicable only to those women who have their own looms. The eligible and interested woman weaver can apply for this scheme through the official website itanagar.nic.in/scheme.html

Highlights of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Bunkar Yojana

The state government has made some provision in the scheme which are specified below:-

  • The beneficiary of the scheme will get a loan on 7% interest subvention.
  • Subsequently, the government will provide loan facility as a short-term credit / Cash Credit limit / Working capital limit / Weavers Credit Card / Swarojgar Credit card availed by the women weavers of the state.
  • Accordingly, the Commercial and Regional Rural Banks will start disbursing the loans after 1 April 2017.
  • Moreover, the state government has set a target to benefit approx. 3000 women weavers across the state for the current financial year.
  • For this reason, the limit of working capital loan is up to Rs 2 lakh for each applicant women weaver under this scheme.
  • In addition to this, the district administration will cover all the women weavers with no limit on the unit size / number of looms.
  • However, the district administration and the bank will make all necessary efforts to create awareness about the scheme.

Karnataka Indira Canteens – Starting from New Year, Jan 1, 2018

The state government of Karnataka is going to launch Indira Canteens for providing food to the needy and poor people of the state. The primary objective of this canteen is to provide a cheap and healthy diet to the poor people and labour force for consumption. This canteen program will start on the day of new year, 1 January 2018.

The Indira canteens will spread all over the state. Moreover, the state government has made an announcement that the shortage of doctors in rural areas will be resolved very soon. Therefore, the government is going to start two-year diploma course and DNB (Diplomate of National Board). The MBBS doctors who are working in the government aided hospital can also join this course.

Moreover, the state government will provide Rs. 185 crore for setting up Indira canteens in every district and Taluka hospitals along with bus stands of the state. The official notification regarding the Indira Canteens timing, Location has not yet been specified.

Indira Canteens in Karnataka

According to the notification, the first stage of Indira canteens will start from 1 January 2018. Initially, the canteens will provide food at a cheaper cost at 246 centers spread over the 171 regions of the state. The state government will spend Rs 9 crore per month on these canteens. As per the official data, around one lakh poor citizens of the state will get healthy diet every day.

The state government has given directions to identify the places where these canteens have to be set up before 17 Dec 2017. Moreover, the government also announces that those people who are living in rural areas and using one litre kerosene, they should return the ration card. Those who are returning their ration card will also get a rechargeable LED bulb under Punar beluka scheme.

In addition to this, to overcome the shortage of doctors in rural areas government will open DNB (Diplomate of National Board) in 10 government hospitals of the state. The list of the government hospitals is given below.

Aashirwad Scheme Punjab – Financial Assistance for Marriage of Girl Child

Punjab state govt. has launched Aashirwad Scheme to provide financial assistance for the Marriage of the girl Child. In addition to this, the state government of Punjab has been decided to provide Rs. 8000 as a financial assistance for those women who are the victims of the acid attacks. The government has also changed the name from Shagun Scheme to Aashirwad Scheme.

Under the Shagun Scheme, the government is providing Rs. 15,000 as a financial assistance for marriage of daughter belongs from the poor family in the state. But this financial aid only for those girls who are above 18 years.

Moreover, the state government has made a provision under Punjab Financial Assistance to Acid Victims Scheme 2017 that women victims of acid attacks will get Rs. 8,000 per month per head. This scheme is being implemented by the Department of Social Security and Development of Women and Children, Punjab.

Highlights of Aashirwad Scheme Punjab

Below are some of the main highlights of Aashirwad Scheme Punjab :-

  • The beneficiary of the scheme would include girls belonging to the state of Punjab only.
  • Accordingly, the family members / relatives of women who are victim of acid attacks have to apply for the aid to the District Social Security Officer.
  • Subsequently, the government will form a committee at the district level under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner. This committee will sanction the financial aid to the victim.
  • Moreover, the state govt. will transfer payment directly into bank account of the beneficiaries.

In order to implement this scheme, the state government has extended the contract period of the Pharmacists workers working as a service provider in the state. Accordingly, this extension period will be of one year that would start from 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2018.

Furthermore, govt will recruit approximately 1,186 employees of IV class in Subsidiary Health Centres of Zila Parishads in Rural Development and Panchayats Department. Moreover, these employees will get salary at the existing rates of Rs 7,000 and Rs 3,000 per month respectively by the time they become regular.

1,82,783 Houses Approved in Maharashtra Under PMAY for Construction by 2018

The state government of Maharashtra has given its approval to construct 1,82,783 new houses in the state under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). The housing scheme in the state is being implemented by MAHDA (Maharashtra Housing and Urban Development Authority), it is the nodal agency which overlooks the all housing project in the state.

The central government has selected the Maharashtra state to construct 19 Lakh houses till 2022 under PMAY. So far, MHADA has sent 94 projects proposals to Maharashtra government, out of which 60 projects have been approved. The Maharashtra government has ensured to provide affordable houses to every poor in the state.

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Maharashtra

The state government will construct around 1,82,783 house across the state. Out of this, over 1 lakh 21 thousand houses are being reserved only for economically weaker section of society. Moreover, the state government has approved 11 housing construction projects for Konkan Board. A total 26,000 houses will be constructed only in the Mumbai metropolitan area.

The state government will provide house to each beneficiary at an affordable rate. The beneficiary will also get loan facility to buy an eco – friendly house in the state under PMAY. As per the released notification, the nodal agency of Maharashtra is MHADA has made a promise to complete this project by 2018.

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana

PM Awas Yojana is an ambitious affordable housing scheme of Narendra Modi Schemes. Under this scheme, the government aims to provide house to all the poor people of the society across the country by 2022. This scheme is being implemented by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation in cooperation with the state governments.

The central government is also inviting online registration for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana under the 4 benefit components of the scheme through its official pmaymis.gov.in.

Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar Last Date Extended for Online Registration

Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar online registration last date has been extended by the Ministry of Human Resource Development by 15 days. Earlier the last date for Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar 2017-18 was 31st October but now the registration for the scheme would be allowed till 15th November.

Under the Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar scheme, the central government would examine the facilities of water, sanitation and hygiene in the schools. It is a great initiative by the MHRD to determine the health of the students as well as teachers in schools across the country.

Online applications / registration for the scheme are being invited through the official portal at www.swachhvidyalaya.com till 15th November 2017.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development has also launched a mobile app for online registration of schools. Chief Minister Krishi Sanjivani Yojana 2017 Electricity Bill Waiver Scheme in Maharashtra

The state government of Maharashtra has launched Chief Minister Krishi Sanjivani Yojana – 2017 or Mukhyamantri Krishi Sanjivani Yojana amnesty scheme for 41 lakh farmers of the state. The objective of this amnesty scheme is to give forgiveness for those farmers who are unable to pay their energy bills. Through this scheme, the state government will recover dues of Rs. 10,890 crore from 41 lakh farmers.

According to the Energy department, govt. will waive the penalty and interest of Rs. 8,164 crore on the farmers of the state. Total pending electricity bills of Rs. 19,272 crore will be recovered through the Chief Minister Krishi Sanjivani Yojana.

In addition, the farmers who have failed to pay their pending electricity bills since 2012 will get huge benefits under the scheme. However, the benefit of Mukhyamantri Krishi Sanjivani Yojana will be available only if each consumer including farmers pay their present energy bill.

Chief Minister Krishi Sanjivani Yojana – 2017

The state government has appealed that each farmer has to pay their present bill within seven days to avail the scheme benefits. If the farmers fails to pay their dues then their electrical connection will be disconnected. The energy department did not disconnect the electricity connections of farmers for last three years hence, the pending amount has reached the alarming stage.

The Power holding company of the state has failed to purchase the electricity and provide it at minimum rates. Therefore, the state government has launched Chief Minister Krishi Sanjivani Yojana to recover Rs. 10,890 crore dues from 41 lakh farmers.

Furthermore, the state government has admitted that the farmers who have their pending bills below Rs. 30,000, they can pay their balance in five installments. Farmers with pending bill amount of above Rs. 30,000 can pay their balance in ten installments.

Mukhyamantri Krishi Sanjivani Yojana – Installments

Farmers with up to Rs. 30,000 of dues can pay their pending bills as follows –
First installment – December 2017
Second installment – March 2018
Third installment – June 2018
Fourth installment – September 2018
Last or fifth installment – December 2018

The farmers who have to pay their pending bills above Rs 30,000, can pay their dues in an interval of 45 days in 10 installments. Moreover, If the farmers fail to avail the benefit of Mukhyamantri Krishi Sanjivani Yojana amnesty scheme, then they have to pay the pending dues along with interest and penalty. The department will establish several special camps for the farmers to create the awareness about the clear their dues under the scheme.

Moreover, the government has informed that each farmer of the state will get a solar power from next year under Chief Minister Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana. By using solar power, the farmers will get electricity at lesser rates. Subsequently, an identified group of 200 farmers will get 1 MW solar power while a group of 4,000 farmers will get 20 MW solar power. Therefore, the government will acquire land on rent from farmers for next 15 years for the installation of the solar power panels.

The state government of Chhattisgarh is all set to launch Mukhyamantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana in the state. The objective of this scheme is to provide a health smart card to all the citizens of the state. The state government is working towards 100 percent detection of sickle cell anemia at schools and Panchayat level.

As per the official data, out of 2.5 crore total population of the state, around 25 lakh people are being affected with sickle cell anemia. Therefore, the state government is going to provide a health smart card, under Mukhyamantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana to financially help such people in treatment of the disease. In addition, the government will also organize health check up camps on regular basis in all the district of the state.

Along with Mukhyamantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana, the state government has also inaugurated 4 other health card schemes on 28th October 2017.

The state government of Chhattisgarh will provide free & cashless treatment facilities to all the citizens of the state through the health smart card which is being issued under the scheme. The state government has increased the maximum limit to Rs. 50,000 to the beneficiary of the health smart card. Previously, this limit was Rs. 30,000 under the Mukhyamantri Swasthya Bima Yojana.

Moreover, the state government will provide such medicines which will guarantee 100% treatment in just 6 months for the more than 30,000 TB (Tuberculosis) patients all over the state. Each patient will have to consume 3 doses daily of those medicines in order to entirely remove the disease of TB.

Furthermore, citizens who are suffering from Thalassemia in the state would be required to have their blood transfusion and regular checkups. State government will take several measures to tackle the problem of Thalasemmia under Mukhyamantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana.

The state government will also address the problem of Malnutrition which has mostly affected the children of the state.

Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Bima Yojana Last Date Extended Till 31st March 2018

The state government of Punjab has extended the last date of Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Bima Yojana to the citizen of the state. Now the citizen can make their registration till 31st March 2018. Sehat Bima Yojana will provide cashless treatment facilities and health services to poor people of the state at specialized hospitals.

Earlier, the Punjab Government has increased the limit of cashless treatment from Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000 under Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Bima Yojana (BPSSBY). All blue card holders will get better healthcare treatment in all the districts across the state. The beneficiary can take health treatment in all government and empaneled private hospital.

The state government of Kerala has launched health insurance scheme for jobless cashew workers of the state. The objective of this scheme is to provide an insurance cover to all jobless cashew workers so that they can feel financially strong in times of any health issues.

The health insurance scheme is being implemented by Kerala cashew workers relief and welfare fund board with the help of the comprehensive health insurance agency of Kerala. The problems of health with cashew workers industry is on the peak in the state. Therefore, the government has launched health insurance scheme for such jobless workers of the state.

Moreover, the cashew worker will have to be made registration on Akshaya Centres to avail the benefits of health insurance scheme. This scheme is only to those cashew workers who have left their job. They are owing to the non-operation of 290 private cashew factories in the state.

  • The state government of Kerala will provide free health insurance to all jobless cashew workers in the state.
  • This scheme will cover jobless cashew workers according to the socio-economic condition of the cashew worker.
  • The cashew worker will have to submit Welfare Fund Board card, ESI card, Aadhaar card and ration card at the time of registration on Akshay centers.
  • The documents of cashew workers will be notified by the offices of the Welfare Fund Board Inspectors.
  • The inspectors will issue a certificate that will have to be registered through the Akshaya Centres.

The Comprehensive Health Insurance Agency of Kerala will issue the insurance policy to the registered cashew workers under the scheme.

A lot of cashew workers has unemployed due to 290 non-functional private cashew factories. Keeping in mind the problems of jobless cashew workers, government is providing an insurance cover so that in case of any medical emergency the life of workers could be saved.

Aawaz Health Insurance Scheme Launched in Kerala for Migrant Workers

The state government of Kerala has launched Aawaz health insurance scheme for migrant workers in the state. The objective of this scheme is to provide a health insurance coverage for migrant laborers working across the state. This is a first of its kind scheme in the country that is providing health insurance to all migrant laborers. Under the scheme, labourers aged between 18 and 60 will be covered.

The labour and skills department of Kerala is preparing a comprehensive database of migrant labourers in the state. After the collection of data, the department will enroll them under a health insurance scheme. As per the notification, the registration process for migrant workers has been started.

However, the benefits of the scheme will be started from January 2018 itself. On the inauguration day of the scheme, about one lakh migrant labourers were registered for the scheme in all the districts of the state.

Aawaz Health Insurance Scheme

Under the Aawaz scheme, each migrant laborer will get an accident and death insurance coverage. The beneficiary will get a free health insurance cover of Rs. 15,000 and the government would also provide a death insurance coverage of Rs. 2 lakh. The benefit of this medical insurance scheme can be availed in government hospitals of the state as well as empaneled private hospitals.

Moreover, the government will record personal details and bio-metric data of individual migrant labourers. The state government of Kerala has taken several initiatives for the welfare of migrant workers in the state. The government is also about to complete the first housing project for migrant workers at Kanjikode in Palakkad which will be opened in January 2018. In addition, the Social Justice Department is planning for setting up crushers for migrant labourers at the work site.

As per the report of Gulati Institute of Finance and Taxation (GIFT), In 2013, around 25 lakh migrant labourers were working in the state while 2.35 lakh being added every year in labour force. Under the scheme, the labour department is planning to complete the first phase of registration till December 31. Besides, the government has fixed the target to enroll five lakh inter-state migrant labourers.

Aawaz Scheme Registration and Smart Cards

Furthermore, a Kolkata-based private based Smart IT Private Limited has been given the responsibility to complete the task of registration, recording the details and issuing smart cards to the labourers. The cards will include their name, photo and address. In addition, thumb impression will be recorded separately of each migrant labour in the government’s database for security reasons.

The government has started the negotiation with insurance companies for choosing the insurance provider. However, until the process of negotiation is complete with the insurance company, the government will continue the benefits of existing scheme for all those workers who have registered. For this, government has allotted Rs. 10 crore for offering the benefits.

Although, the labour department will register only those migrant labourers who have a valid identity proof. The valid proof will be cross checked from the 14 documents listed by the Center. The registration process will be held at 200 locations of the state. However, the department has already collected details from one lakh migrant labourers across the state.

The labour department will also spread the awareness about the scheme through the FM radio advertisements in Hindi, Bengali and Oriya.

Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has launched a new Food Regulatory Portal as a single interface for the food business across the country. The portal which is live at http://fssai.gov.in/FoodRegulatory would help in the implementation of food laws across the country in a transparent and effective manner.

The food regulatory portal would help businesses address all their concerns about the food standards, entry into the food business, and others. The portal would also help food businesses to reduce the burden of compliance and facilitating trade. The full service platform would act as a single comprehensive gateway to cater to both domestic operations and food imports.

The food regulatory portal would also help in the implementation of single standard food law across the country. However, despite a single nationwide food law, there are several inconsistencies in the implementation of the law in different states. Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojana Scholarship Scheme to Promote Philately

Ministry of Communications, Government of India has launched Deen Dayal SPARSH (Scholarship for Promotion of Aptitude & Research in Stamps as a Hobby) Yojana Scholarship Scheme all over the country. This is a Pan India scholarship scheme for those school children who have interest in philately. The objective of this scheme is to increase the reach of school children for philately.

Under Deen Dayal SPARSH scheme, Ministry of communications has proposed to award annual scholarships to children. The students of standard VI to IX will be covered under the scheme. However, the scheme benefits only available to the students who are having good academic records and also pursuing Philately as a hobby. This scheme is being implemented by Department of Post under Ministry of Communications.

Under SPARSH scheme, a total of 920 award scholarships to students pursuing Philately as a hobby will be given. As per the notice, a competitive selection process will be held in every postal circle (state) to provide a maximum of 40 scholarships representing 10 students each from Standard VI, VII, VIII & IX. The total amount of scholarship will be Rs. 6000/- per annum @ Rs. 500/- per month.

  • The execution department of the scheme will publish the notification to circle-wise enroll students under the scheme.
  • The department will provide the list of topics for projects while issuing the notification of the scheme.
  • Subsequently, the authority will conduct a circle – wise quiz contest of philately & performance. The performance of quiz will evaluate the eligibility of the student.
  • The department will form a committee at circle level which will consist of postal officials and renowned philatelists. This committee will evaluate the project work on philately submitted by the students.

Interested student can read the eligibility criteria to avail the scheme below:-

  • The student should be studying in recognized school within India.
  • The student will be selected only from the school which have a Philately Club and the student should have to be a member of that Club.
  • However, if school does not have a Philately Club then a student having his personal Philately deposit account will also be considered.
  • The student should have secured minimum 60% marks in the final year examination and in addition, 5% relaxation will be given to the student belonging to SC /ST community.

Moreover, the every prospective school which is participating in the competition would be assigned a Philately mentor to be chosen from the renowned Philatelists. These selected philately mentors will help in the formation of the School level Philately Club.

In addition, they would also be providing guidance to young and aspiring Philatelists. They will also guide on how to pursue the hobby and helping the aspiring Philatelists on their Philately Projects etc.

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural gas, GOI is going to held a contest named “Solar Chulha Design, Innovate & Create” to develop an affordable and versatile solar-powered stove system for the country. The registration process for the Solar Chulha design contest has been started by ONGC at startup.ongc.co.in. The interested candidates can apply for the contest by 1st December 2017.

The purpose of this initiative is to create a design of Solar Chulha by harnessing the latest technology and innovated ideas. About 700 million Indian households are using biomass for fuel in their kitchen every day which is causing various health problems especially among women. Therefore, ONGC is inviting Entrepreneurs / Scientists / Researchers (as individuals or in groups) who are interested in innovation to participate in the contest.

  • The expert panel will shortlist 10 entries from all entries. However, this expert panel can shortlist more candidates, if found attractive.
  • The shortlisted candidates including entrepreneurs, scientists, researchers for this contest will be asked to demonstrate their design of Solar Chulha at New Delhi by end of April 2018.
  • In addition, the interested students from academic and research institutions will also be eligible to participate in the contest through the 3rd National Competition 2017 on Design, Development, and Demonstration of Solar Chulha.
  • This 3rd National Competition 2017 announced by the ONGC Energy Center.
  • However, any ONGC employee and any member of the evaluation panel, experts, and jury who are directly involved in the execution and evaluation are not eligible for the Contest.

Gold Jewellery Hallmarking to Be Mandatory from 1st Jan 2018

The central government is planing make the hallmarking regulations mandatory for all gold Jewellery sold in the country from 1st Jan 2018. The Hallmarking regulations will be under under the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Act 2016 by the Department of Consumer Affairs. Presently, buyers of gold don’t know the actual quality / purity of their Jewellery. Therefore. the government will ensure the selling of gold only in categories of 14, 18 and 22 carat after the revision of the standards across the country.

The government has informed that most Indian households understand purity of gold in terms of carat. In addition, gold jewellery bear not just the Hallmarking value (such as 916 or 958) but also the value of carat present in gold. Therefore, BIS officials are going to place hallmarking regulations in market by January. Initially, the hallmarking regulation will be placed in smooth way all over the Indian market, as per the official notification.

The execution department of the scheme is also contacting with the manufacturing companies to ensure strict adherence of the revision of the standards laid down. The hallmarking regulations will absolutely ensure the safety of dwellings.

The Department of Consumer Affairs will confer BIS to contact with certified private agencies to check whether manufacturing of gold Jewellery are conforming to standards prescribed in their areas where the standards body’s staff is insufficient.

Under the proposed regulation, hallmark will also mention the carat of gold used the Jewellery. The government will ensure hallmarking along with carat count compulsory for the ornament sold across the nation.

BIS is the nodal agency of Government of India to operate the hallmarking scheme. This hallmarking scheme has been evolved with international criteria on hallmarking. The rules and regulations of hallmarking scheme operates on the basis of trust.

Kerala Trauma Care Scheme for Free Treatment of Accident Victims for First 48 Hours

The state government of Kerala has launched Trauma Care Scheme in the state to provide free treatment to the accident victims in first 48 hours. Total expense of treatment of accident victims in first 48 hours will be initially paid by the government but will due to be reimbursed by the respective insurance companies later.

Under Trauma care scheme, the government will pay all expenses incurred by a hospital for the emergency care of an accident victim for the first 48 hour. Subsequently, the families of accident victims shall not pay the money to the hospitals for the emergency care which is being provided to the victim for the first 48 hours.

However, the complete details and operational part of the scheme will be revealed after the government holds discussion with insurance companies, as per officially released notification. The beneficiary can avail the benefit in all government medical colleges & hospitals, district hospitals, taluk hospitals, and major private sector hospitals.

Kerala Trauma Care Scheme

The government has informed that any hospital should not be denied to provide emergency care to accident victims, In addition, the treatment should not be restricted only to those people who have the capacity to pay for treatment.

Moreover, If the accident victim is being taken care in any private hospital, the government will pay the cost of immediate emergency care from the Road Safety Fund. In addition, a special ambulance with all advanced life-support care facilities will also be arranged to evacuate accident victims from the accident site without delay to reach at the nearest hospital.

Moreover, a centralized call center facility will also be managed and coordinated to the service for the accident victims under the Trauma care scheme. The government is also planning to arrange the ambulance service by calling for proposals from private agencies. A separate software will be available for choosing the nearest ambulance and hospital to reach the accident victim.

Besides all, special training will be given to those healthcare workers who are personally involved at the time of transporting the accident victim. The government will provide the funds for the scheme by utilizing the Road Safety Fund, the Corporate Social Responsibility Fund of the Kerala State Transport Project and the government’s budgetary allocation.

Mukhyamantri Agricultural Solar Feeder Scheme Maharashtra to Supply Power 12 Hour

The State government of Maharashtra is going to launch “Chief Minister Agricultural Solar Feeder Scheme” or “Chief Minister Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana” in the state. Under the scheme, the government will provide solar feeders to ensure 12-hour power supply for agro pumps across the state. The objective of the scheme is to provide power to farmers for at least 12 hours a day at cheaper rates.

According to the notification, the government has informed that the earlier distribution of portable solar pumps had not worked out properly because of insufficient response from the farmers of the state. Therefore, the government is now planning solar power generation through small plants.

Initially, the solar power will be distributed to only dedicated feeders. Currently, the government is implementing solar power generation projects in Solapur and Latur on Public Private Partnership basis.

The farmers of the Maharashtra state will get cheap and assured electricity across the state through solar feeder scheme in next three years. Recently, the CM of Maharashtra performed the Bhumipujan (ground breaking ceremony) for first solar project under the ’Mukhyamantri Agricultural Solar Feeder’ scheme at Ralegan Siddhi.

Moreover, the govt. is going to install the solar power plants to ensure continuous supply of electricity in all weather to the farmers. The farmers will get electricity at Rs. 1.20 per unit. The tender process for this scheme is completed and solar panels installation process of 500 MW will be completed by March 2018. Govt. will officially launch Chief Minister Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana in the month of April 2018.

The state government is going to obtain agricultural land from farmers on rent for the duration of 15 years for the installation of the solar power panels. Solar Power is a renewable source of energy and available at affordable rates. Therefore, government is giving more focus on setting up of solar panels across the state. The Chief Minister Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana will help in reducing input cost and enhance production of agriculture product.
